Apple has rolled out the third public beta versions of its upcoming software updates, including iOS 26.1, iPadOS 26.1, macOS Tahoe 26.1, tvOS 26.1, and watchOS 26.1, for public beta testers to evaluate. Earlier this week, the company had already provided these beta versions to developers. Individuals who have registered for beta testing via Apple’s official beta site can download these updates through the Software Update option found in the Settings app on their respective devices. Notably, the iOS 26.1, iPadOS 26.1, and macOS Tahoe 26.1 updates introduce Apple Intelligence in additional languages, such as Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Turkish, Traditional Chinese, and Vietnamese. Furthermore, the AirPods Live Translation feature now supports Japanese, Korean, Italian, and both Traditional and Simplified Chinese in iOS 26. Users can find further information about minor updates to applications like Photos, Music, the Apple TV app, and Phone in the comprehensive iOS 26.1 features guide.

### Apple Expected to Announce New Products Soon

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is gearing up to unveil a new lineup of products “this week.” In his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman mentions that updates are anticipated for several devices, including the iPad Pro, Vision Pro, and potentially the standard 14-inch MacBook Pro. All three devices are expected to receive performance enhancements with the integration of Apple’s next-generation M5 chip.

### Apple Preparing iOS 26.0.2 Update for iPhones

Internally, Apple is conducting tests on the upcoming iOS 26.0.2 update, as indicated by logs from MacRumors, which have proven to be reliable in predicting future iOS releases. This forthcoming update is expected to be a minor one focused on fixing bugs and security issues, although specific details have yet to be revealed. A release is anticipated within the next few weeks following last month’s launch of iOS 26.

### Apple TV+ Rebranding to Apple TV

In a recent announcement regarding the streaming debut of “F1: The Movie” on December 12, Apple revealed that its Apple TV+ service would be rebranded simply as Apple TV. A brief mention at the conclusion of the press release noted the change, stating, “Apple TV+ is now simply Apple TV, with a vibrant new identity.” However, updates to Apple’s website reflecting this change are still pending, leaving some aspects of the rebranding unclear.

### Apple Set to Launch New Products Next Week, According to Speculative Leak

A speculative claim from the Korean blog Naver suggests that Apple is poised to announce new products through a series of press releases beginning as early as next week. This information originates from a post by the Naver account yeux1122, which aggregates claims rather than generating original content regarding Apple.

### Apple Reportedly Developing New AirPods Pro and H3 Chip

Following the release of AirPods Pro 3 last month, Apple is reportedly in the early stages of developing a new iteration of AirPods Pro, as stated by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. It remains unclear whether these new earbuds will be branded as AirPods Pro 4 or simply viewed as an enhanced version of the AirPods Pro 3. Gurman described them as a “new version” of the premium in-ear buds, indicating a continued evolution in Apple’s audio product line.

### Apple’s Smart Glasses May Feature Dual Modes

Apple’s forthcoming generation of smart glasses, equipped with an in-lens display, is rumored to offer two operational modes based on the devices they connect to. In his Power On newsletter, Gurman mentioned that these advanced smart glasses could run the complete visionOS operating system when linked to a Mac, providing users with enhanced functionality.

### Apple Discontinues Clips App

Apple has effectively discontinued its Clips app, which was designed for video editing by allowing users to merge video clips, images, and photos alongside voice-based titles, music, filters, and graphics for social media sharing. The app has been removed from the App Store, and a support document on Apple’s site confirms that it will no longer receive updates or support.

### Uncertain Future for Vision Pro as Headset Development Pauses

Recent reports indicate that Apple has ceased active development on redesigned Vision headsets, shifting its focus toward smart glasses. When the Vision Pro was introduced in mid-2023, Apple hailed it as the beginning of “spatial computing,” a concept it believes will eventually rival the significance of the iPhone. However, with a starting price of $3,499 and a complex design, the future of this product appears uncertain as the company redirects its resources.
